While some classic cafes remain largely unchanged since opening, the 70-year-old Esplanade Cafe has undergone some radical changes.
It's owned by the Medinelli family and Marco Medinelli, 45, said:
"It's been knocked down, rebuilt and refurbished - but we're still in the original location.
"We used to be a sit-in cafe but now we operate as a takeaway. Although we've changed in some ways, in other ways we're more traditional.
"We get customers coming in who are in their 80s, saying they remember being served by my mother decades ago."
